ANGELA BASSETT, GOT CAST, MORE CAST AS EMMYs PRESENTERS: The first group of presenters for the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 22 have been announced. Nominees Angela BassettStephen ColbertViola Davis, Michael Douglas, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers and Billy Porter will present, as will actors from HBO's Game of Thrones, Empire stars Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, 9-1-1's Peter Krause, Zendaya and Naomi Watts. The 71st Emmy Awards will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sept. 22, 8-11 p.m. ET/5-8 p.m PT, on Fox.  

RICHARD DORMER TO LEAD THE WATCH: Game of Thrones star Richard Dormer has been tapped to lead BBC America’s The Watch, based on the Discworld novels by Sir Terry Pratchett. Dormer stars as Sam Vimes, Captain of the Watch. Dormer said, “I’m so thrilled to be part of this brilliant madness and mayhem. I was immediately drawn to the multitude of layers to Sam Vimes, and I find the dynamic between him and his band of disenfranchised comrades very compelling.”

AMAZON’S HANNA ADDS FLEABAG, HOMECOMING STARS: Amazon’s small-screen adaptation of Joe Wright’s 2011 teen assassin feature Hanna has filled out its cast for the second season. Hanna has added Dermot Mulroney (Homecoming, My Best Friend’s Wedding), Anthony Welsh (Fleabag, Black Mirror), Severine Howell-Meri (Doctors, Casualty), Cherelle Skeete (Ordinary Lies, Call the Midwife) and newcomer Gianna Kiehl to its lineup. 

RUPERT EVERETT JOINS VIRGINIA WOOLF: After the departure of Eddie Izzard, Rupert Everett will take over as George in director Joe Mantello’s Broadway staging of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Laurie Metcalf stars as Martha. The limited engagement begins March 2, 2020.
