Fuller House star Lori Loughlin and Guess designer Mossimo Giannulli have kept up a united front after being charged with bribing their daughter Bella and Olivia‘s way into University of Southern California with $500K. The pair have pleaded not guilty and are sharing lawyers.
But all is not well behind the scenes, according to a new report in Us Weekly. Perhaps understandably, their relationship has been under strain from the constant media attention.
“Their daughter Bella is extremely concerned they’re going to get divorced,” a source tells Us Weekly.
Unlike fellow Hollywood star Felicity Huffman, who pleaded guilty to fraud in exchange for a lighter sentence (prosecutors are asking for four months) behind bars, Loughlin and Giannulli have been reamed in the media and by the public for their not-guilty plea. Also: the pair face up to 40 years in prison.
Loughlin, as it turns out, wanted to take the deal. “Lori was inclined to take the deal, but Mossimo said it would ruin both of their careers,” the source says. “He is expecting to be fully exonerated and will refuse any other plea-deal offers.”
Loughlin’s friends are reportedly urging her to file for divorce. “Her friends think she should leave him,” a second Us Weekly source said. “But Lori refuses and says the ordeal has made them stronger.”
