When Meghan Markle married Prince Harry last May, she shut down her blog, The Tig and nixed her social media accounts, per Royal protocol.
But Meghan has slowly been creeping back into her creative roles by launching an “official” Royal Instagram @sussexroyal with Harry, and now, reportedly signing on to guest edit British Vogue in September.
September, as fashion geeks know, is the most important issue of the year. According to a source who tells Us Weekly, “Meghan will be writing an opinion piece of her own as well as bringing a selection of female change-makers on board to write their own personal essays.”
She will also grace the pages, Us Weekly reports, with a shoot set up at the Frogmore Cottage home she shares with Harry and their newborn son, Archie Harrison. No word yet on if Archie or Harry will join her.
Since becoming an official royal, she has sat down for a glossy spread. Her most recent cover was Vanity Fair’s October 2017 issue. She said of her relationship with Harry: “We’re two people who are really happy and in love. We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people’s perception. Nothing about me changed. I’m still the same person that I am, and I’ve never defined myself by my relationship.”
She’s not the first royal editor: in 2013, Prince Charles guest edited Country Life, and the issue was the magazine’s best seller of all time. He then reprised the editing role for the magazine in 2018 to mark his 70th birthday.
In other news, Archie will be christened this July at Queen Elizabeth’s request, according to reports.
