RENEE ZELLWEGER IS JUDY GARLAND: In the first trailer for the Judy Garland biopic Judy, Renee Zellweger stars as the legendary singer and actress, and we see her touching down in London for a series of sold-out concerts at the Talk of the Town nightclub. A stripped own version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” plays. The film follows the star’s final days before dying from an accidental overdose at age 47 in 1969.
ABC ADDS STARS TO ALL IN THE FAMILY CAST: Anthony Anderson, Amber Stevens West, Ike Barinholtz and Sean Hayes are joining the restaging of Norman Lear’s classic sitcom, All in the Family. The live event will take place on May 22, and will recreate two classic episodes. Lear and Jimmy Kimmel are exec producing. They join Woody Harrelson, who's playing Archie Bunker, Jamie Foxx (George Jefferson), Marisa Tomei (Edith Bunker), Wanda Sykes (Louise Jefferson), Ellie Kemper (Gloria Bunker Stivic), Will Ferrell (Tom Willis) and Justina Machado (Florence Johnston).
ERIC MCCORMACK HEADS TO NETFLIX: Will & Grace’s Eric McCormack is headed over to mega-streamer Netflix to play a teacher in the third season of Atypical, starring Keir Gilchrist, who plays Sam, an 18-year-old on the autism spectrum, plus his mom Elsa (Jennifer Jason Leigh), dad Doug (Michael Rapaport) and sister Casey (Brigette Lundy-Paine). McCormack currently stars in the NBC Will & Grace revival, which will return with its third season in the fall. Atypical has received a 10-episode order for its third season.
MARK COUSINS MAKING ROAD TRIP MOVIE: Documentarian Mark Cousins is making a film about the life and work of Jeremy Thomas, an Oscar-winning producer who will be at Cannes this year with Takashi Miike’s First Love. The story will follow Thomas, producer of The Last Emperor, and follow him on adventures as he makes a land and sea pilgrimage to the Cannes Film Festival. A yearly event, Thomas often travels in old sports cars with friends. This time, Cousins is joining the party.
