According to sources, Paul McCartney's new favorite watering hole is a Manhattan gay bar. Radaronline.com reported that "Macca" has been frequenting his good friend, actor Alan Cumming's bar, Club Cumming. The establishment's co-owner Daniel Nardicio revealed to Straight Shuter, "Sir Paul seems to be becoming a regular. He came in without bodyguards. He and his friends drank quietly during our party, Haus of Cumming."
McCartney was first spotted at Club Cumming on September 22nd, 2017, fresh from his Barclays Center show in Brooklyn. The former-Beatle — wearing an "I Saw Paul McCartney In Brooklyn" shirt — took the stage with Cumming and actress Emma Stone, backing them on his signature tiny harmonica for a rendition of "Part Of Your World" from The Little Mermaid and playing a few other songs before hopping onto the dance floor grooving to assorted ABBA and Donna Summer hits.
Over the years, some of Paul McCartney's closest friends and associates have been gay, and like the rest of the Beatles, was never shy to be seen with or travel with gay friends, including famed art dealer Robert Fraser — and most famously, the "Fab Four's" legendary manager, Brian Epstein.
A while back, McCartney shed light on the man who discovered the Beatles and marked his first friendship with an openly gay man: ["We were just Liverpool guys, so the word was 'queer' — not gay. We didn't really have a problem with it, it was just something we made fun of — that's just the way it was. We didn't actually know any — we probably did — you didn't talk about it. The word was out that Brian was gay, uh, amongst people. The great thing for us was it didn't really effect us in any way. I think we suspected that he might hit on one of us. In the early days we were slightly, sort of, wondering whether that was his interest in us. But in my personal knowledge, he didn't."] SOUNDCUE (:30 OC: . . . knowledge he didn't)
